The 9th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium titled “Striving for Stability in a Highly Uncertain Energy World”, hosted by the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics, took place between May 22nd 24th, 2024, at Maroussi Plaza Centre, in Athens. The MBA International was a knowledge partner of the Symposium.
The conference was a hub of insightful discussions, centered on the evolving landscape of the energy sector amidst an increasingly complex geopolitical scenery. Maintaining its hallmark blend of international, specialized, and academic rigor, the Symposium delivered comprehensive analyses on a broad spectrum of energy topics.
A wide range of critical issues of the energy sector were presented and debated, including the regulatory frameworks, developments and investments in renewable energy, climate resilience, geopolitical dimensions, energy security, the decarbonization of the Greek Islands and the green transition of the industry.
With the aim of highlighting the role of innovation in the field of energy, four important side events were held during the conference –the IANOS and CHESS workshops, the Academic Paper Sessions and for the first time this year, the Innovation Energy Day, providing a platform to start-up companies, spin-offs, innovation hubs and distinguished academics to share their research findings and propel the energy community forward.
A highlight of the Symposium was the award ceremony, during which, Dr. Yiannis Stournaras, Governor of the Bank of Greece, was recognized for his long-standing contribution to economic policymaking towards a low-carbon economy and climate change mitigation.
