George Ioannou is a Professor of Production & Operations Management at the Department of Management Science and Technology (DMST) of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).
In terms of academic leadership positions, Professor Ioannou served as Director of the MBA International (2007–2017) and he is the Director of the Management Science Laboratory at AUEB.
From 2008 to 2015, he was a member of Microsoft Co. international Academic Advisory Council. He has served as a member of the University Senate and the Research Committee of AUEB and is a member of the Education-Innovation-Entrepreneurship Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
He has received the Microsoft Excellence in Education Award and Teaching Excellence Awards for the courses he has taught in AUEB’s MBA programs.
Professor Ioannou was a member of the National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation – NCRTI (2012–2014) and Chair of the Evaluation Committee for the SYZEFXIS II project—the largest public sector network transformation project during the period 2012–2017—under the Information Society S.A. initiative. Between 2019 and 2022 he was the CEO of EnExGroup
