The MBA International of the Athens University of Economics and Business in cooperation with the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) participate in the Partnership for SDG’s of the United Nations. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals –SDGs- were decided on September 2015, have universal dimension and an implementation agenda that reaches until 2030.
Through the initiative Partnership for Sustainability Education (#SDGAction23013) that is developed by both partners, the aim is to enhance the importance of Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to an effective long lasting corporate responsibility strategy in building a better future, through educating students, entrepreneurs and organizations.
The MBA International is the first Institution of Higher Education in Greece to be part of such a partnership aiming at developing three of the Sustainable Development Goals: a) Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, b) Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts and c) Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
In the framework of the Partnership for Sustainability Education, there have been designed actions, such as the organization of the Annual Sustainability Summit that is co-organised by MBA International and CSE. The Summit, each year focuses on a different topic, is addressing to students, entrepreneurs and business executives and is aiming to educate and create awareness in matters of responsible practices in corporate strategy.
The same framework encompasses the new student Competition «Ideas for Sustainable Start ups» for the students of the Postgraduate Programs MBA International and Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business. The competition aims to support innovation ideas for start-ups that will make a change both in social or/and environmental level.
