Dimitra Michala is a Senior Economist at the Financial Sector Supervisory Committee in Luxembourg where she analyses, assesses and monitors systemic risks and vulnerabilities of Luxembourg’s economy and contributes in operationalising and implementing a macro-prudential policy framework using appropriate policy tools. She is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Luxembourg, where she teaches Corporate Finance at master level classes. Dimitra has worked in the past in the field of audit, advisory as well as retail banking and SME financing.

After completing the i-MBA, she gained a PhD in Finance in the area of Credit Risk and published articles in well established academic journals, such as the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. During her PhD years, she was a Visiting Scholar at New York University (Stern School of Business), where she was mentored by renowned Professors in the area of Credit Risk, such as Prof. Edward Altman.

She is a Greek native and speaks fluently English and French. She is married with two sons. Finally, she is a travel enthusiast and loves art, good food and home decor.
